Alan J. Howell, PT, SCS, AT, ATC

The Howell Rehab Center is owned and directed by Alan J. Howell, PT, SCS, AT, ATC.   Alan is an internationally recognized expert in physical therapy and athletic training. He has over 30 years of experience.  He served as Head Athletic Trainer for the USA Olympic Swim Team and Water Polo Team in the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics.  He was Chief Athletic Trainer for the Field Hockey Venue at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, and for the Atlanta Hockey Challenge in 1995.  Alan was Coordinator of Sports Medicine Services for the 1997 NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four in Cincinnati.  In addition, he has served as trainer to the Pan American Games and various other World Championships.

Alan is a member of numerous professional associations, including the American Physical Therapy Association. At the APTA,  he is one of only 502 Sports Certified Therapists out of 75,000 members nationwide.  Alan also coaches sports and serves as trainer to numerous area high school and college teams.  He is a graduate of Ithaca College where he lettered in three sports and was an All-American in Lacrosse.  He is a member of the Ithaca College Sports Hall of Fame, as well as, the Ithaca High School Hall of Fame.  Alan received his certificate in Athletic Training from the University of Cincinnati.
