At The Howell Rehab Center we fully appreciate that the quality of our patients lives depends on our commitment and expertise. Our staff members have nearly 80 years of combined experience in the physical therapy and rehabilitation fields. Many of our staff members hold advanced degrees in physical therapy and lecture at local colleges. All of our therapists as well as Athletic trainers complete many hours of continuing education each year to stay abreast of the latest research and development in the field of physical therapy.
The Howell Rehab Center is owned and directed by Alan J. Howell, PT, SCS, ATC. Alan is an internationally recognized expert in physical therapy and athletic training and brings nearly 30 years of experience to his patients. He has served as Head Athletic Trainer for the USA Olympic Swim Team and Water Polo Team in the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics. He was Chief Athletic Trainer for the Field Hockey Venue at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, and for the Atlanta Hockey Challenge in 1995. Alan was Coordinator of Sports Medicine Services for the 1997 NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four in Cincinnati. In addition, he has served as trainer to the Pan American Games and various other World Championships.
Alan is a member of numerous professional associations, including the American Physical Therapy Association where he is one of only 502 Sports Certified Therapists out of 75,000 members nationwide. Alan also coaches sports and serves as trainer to numerous area high school and college teams. He is a graduate of Ithaca College where he lettered in three sports and was an all-American in Lacrosse. He is a member of the Ithaca College Sports Hall of Fame as well as the Ithaca High School Hall of Fame. Alan received his certificate in Athletic Training from the University of Cincinnati. Chris has been with The Howell Rehab Center since 2002. She comes from a background in insurance development and corporate training for Great American Life Insurance Company. Chris is our Director of Operations, handling financials and human resource functions for the company. Chris also directs the Pilates program for Howell Rehab. Chris spends most of her time at the Pleasant Ridge office. If you are interested in the Pilates program be sure and give her a call.
Jeff Angeline is a 1989 graduate of Wilmington College's athletic training and secondary health education program. While at Wilmington, Jeff received 4 varsity baseball letters, was team co-captain his senior year, received several academic and leadership awards and started work as a certified athletic trainer upon graduation. He then went to the University of Cincinnati to obtain a master's degree in education, completing a curriculum in cardiovascular fitness and neurobehavior. After graduation in 1992, he went on to Ohio University's School of physical therapy, where he graduated in 1994 summa cum laude. While at Ohio University, Jeff completed a demanding affiliation at the Hughston Orthopedic Clinic in Columbus, Georgia, and has since attended numerous continuing education courses in biomechanics, orthopedics and sports medicine.
Jeff is a native Cincinnatian, and traces his love for sports medicine back to his roots at St. Xavier High School. There he developed both a fascination for the human body in the classroom, and a love for sports on the football and baseball fields. In addition, he has a genuine empathy for his patients, having undergone both knee and shoulder therapy himself. He feels his experiences as a patient taught him a great deal about therapy that he could not have learned in the classroom. Jeff is passionate about providing top quality care and customer service for his patients. You will currently find Jeff at our Anderson location.
Amy started at The Howell Rehab Center in September of 2005. She is currently working at our Cincinnati Sports Mall location. She graduated from the College of Mount Saint Joseph with a BachelorŐs degree in Rehabilitation Science, and a Masters in Physical Therapy. While at The Mount, Amy served as the OPTA liaison of the Student Physical Therapy Association in 03-04 and served as President in 04-05. Amy then became the Treasurer for the Ohio Physical Therapy Association Southwest District in 2005. She previously graduated from Lincoln Memorial University with a BachelorŐs in Athletic Training. Amy enjoys playing soccer, working out, surfing, and traveling out West in her free time.
Laura Joined the Howell Rehab Center in 2002, at our Pleasant Ridge location. She received her physical therapy degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2001, and has been in healthcare since 1989. She works in our Hydromax 2000 facility, specializing in aquatic therapy. Laura enjoys running and working out, and spending time with her husband and son.
Jeff joined us at our Pleasant Ridge location, in September 2005. Jeff recently graduated from The College of Mount Saint Joseph with a Masters in Physical Therapy. While there he was an active member of the student physical therapy program and a member of the golf team for two years. Jeff is also a graduate of the LaSalle High School in 2000. Jeff enjoys spending time with friends and family and golfing, skiing, as well as playing guitar in his spare time.
Brenda House has a bright shiny smile that can be seen at The Howell Rehab Center's West Chester location. Brenda came to us in 1999 and has over 20 years experience in the medical field. Brenda is a certified Phlebotomist and received her EMT certification in 2000. Brenda currently serves as a transcriptionist, billing and insurance specialist at our West Chester clinic.
Trish joined The Howell Rehab Center in May of 2006 as the front office person for our new Delhi location. She brings over 20 years experience in office work, including medical underwriting and insurance. She looks forward to meeting everyone!
